The Itchy Intruder is the ninth book in the Hot Dog Detective series. MacFarland is asked by no less than two different people—Jerry Baker and Lord Bozworth–to help a hundred-year old hobo beat a murder charge. The hobo, Ike Dawes, who hails from the coastal region of northern Georgia, claims he’s innocent of killing his best friend, to all those who can understand his heavy accent and get past his bad skin condition. Of course, after eight or nine decades of avoiding the Man, Ike Dawes isn’t inclined to be very helpful in proving his own innocence.
When MacFarland discovers that the case of the Itchy Intruder is tied up to his own brother’s shenanigans, he discovers an added reason to find the real murderer of Ike’s best, and probably only, friend.
