About Me...
I write Cozy Mysteries and am the author of three mystery series: The Hot Dog Detective series, the Crystal Cove series, and the Ava Storm series.
The Hot Dog Detective series features Mark MacFarland, a former police detective who now operates a hot dog cart… but who still keeps finding himself drawn into solving murders. With the help of his homeless friend, Rufus Headley and his former partner, Cynthia Pierson, MacFarland helps the “invisible people” of Denver get justice.
The Crystal Cove series is a collection of cozy mysteries set in Crystal Cove, California. The heroine, Sally O’Brian, can see ghosts. Along with her deceased husband Matt, she helps the dearly departed who have died under mysterious circumstances come to grips with their fate and move on from this plane.
The Ava Storm series builds on the supernatural element and focuses on the life of a young scry witch, Ava Storm, who works as a consultant with the Los Angeles Police Department. She is sometime aided, sometimes hindered in her investigations by her ex-husband Liam, who has been transformed into an orange tabby cat. What complicates Ava’s life is that she often has to work with Liam’s older–and better looking–brother, Braxton.
For many years, I worked in the corporate world as a consultant and a trainer. I’ve taught the most hardened, cynical, and difficult population on the planet: supervisors and managers of large businesses. In that thankless capacity, I wrote and published a series of management development textbooks for businesses.
My job did have some perks. My career has taken me to many parts of the world. I’ve spent large hunks of my life in New York, New Jersey, California, Colorado, Texas, Alaska, Scotland, Mexico, the Philippines, India, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Australia. I’ve sojourned in Nepal, Myanmar, Thailand, England, France, Canada, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Japan, Illinois, Georgia, Florida…oh, the list goes on and on. Having lived in so many diverse cultures, I’ve acquired a great tolerance and appreciation of people of different cultures and backgrounds. Perhaps that is one of the factors that inspires MacFarland’s understanding of the various groups that make up the homeless and underclass of American society.
Please leave comments and reviews
In the course of writing sever series of books, it is possible to get things mixed up, forget details, or just make mistakes. While I have a very sensitive soul, I have learned that one needs to be able to take criticism, feedback, and suggestions for improvement. If you have any of these, please feel free to let me know. I look forward to your comments.
All of my books are available at MisquePress.com. Check out my store for other genres and talented authors. We are an indie press and appreciate your patronage.
Remember, if you love any of my books, please consider leaving reviews of them on book sites like Shopify, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Kobo, iTunes, and Smashwords. It doesn’t have to be complicated – even just a few lines would be wonderful. I am so grateful to all of you who have already posted your reviews.
